A lot of you have probably heard that quote by Henry David Thoreau. I even have it painted on the side of a coffee mug.
The meaning doesn't seem too ambiguous, and it probably means something a little different to you than it means to me. I think that's the point of life, really. Life means something different to all of us and what we do is largely up to our own interpretation and choices.
I encourage all of you to strive for the biggest dream you have ever imagined, because I truly believe that our lives can be dramatically changed just by the amount of effort that we put into things, big or small. I sound soap-boxy (is "boxy" even a word?) and I profusely apologize because I'm not generally a soap box.
This is when I change from soap box back to that girl that sends all those study hall emails: This week (and next week and the next week and the one after that) I want all of you to choose a class that you are struggling in - a class that you don't have an A in right now, but you could get an A in if you tried extra hard... You know the one I'm talking about - and put forth a little extra effort in that class. I know we're getting burnt out. But now is the time to distinguish ourselves:
-Get your homework done EARLY
-Go visit with your professor and figure out why your grade isn't what you'd like it to be
-Figure out how to improve said grade
-Start organizing your material for the final exam.
There is no time like the present.
